My car was lightly sputtering. I took it in and the 4th cylinder was misfiring. I took out the plug and it was covered in oil. I cleaned it up and changed the plug out. The oil was a bit low so I put some more oil in. Its been a week and my truck it sputtering again. Any ideas?

I checked the plug and it was clean. However, I looked under the truck and next to the oil filter, that metal pan, had dirty oil and it looked like some fresh oil coming out of it. Possibly an oil pan gasket?

IT would be very hard for the oil to travel up and into the cylinder to foul the plug?!!!
is it possible for the oilpan to be leaking ? yes !!
leaking oil pan will NOT cause check engine light
or rough running
check the codes again lets see what u have for #'s
