1994 Ford F-150 possible transmission slip

My 1994 eddie bauer f-150 is acting up, when I was driving home from work the other day the check engine light came on, never been on before, when this happened I lost all power, truck was still running but I just wasnt going anywhere. The check engine light went out and the transmission picked up for a min and then the light came on and the truck lost power again, it did this all the way home, is it possible that it is slipping or maybe just a sensor went out? I fiqure it may be a sensor since it will run fine for a while but then the light comes on, any help is appreciated.

Have you had had the computer scanned? It could be a trans control module (TCM).

I had the same problem with mine, only on long trips right? Check your exhaust 02 sensor, mine was busted and I haven't seen that problem since. Thing cost me like $35 and I haven't had a problem since.
