1986 Ford F-150 low oil pressure

Out of nowhere the oil pressure will drop to low when driving after a while then when I go restart it after seting a while the oil pressure will go back up
please help this is my first truck and my mom got it for me I am only 16

Hi there,

I would first have the oil pressure tested with a master gauge as this will give a true indication as to the oil pressure, the other thing that my be causing the pressure to drop and then return is a faulty pressure relief valve.

Ive owned 4 ford 150s. Every one did the same thing to me. In fact my 91 does it now. Do not over fill your oil capasity an add a qt of lucas oil stabilizer. I think this will solve your proublem
