I have a low oil pressure indication on the gauge. The gauge is L-H without a direct psi indication. The engine appears to run fine and the problem may be the gauge or the sender but I want to be sure. How do I check the actual psi of the system. Where is the pressure switch located. Can I buy a pressure gauge and screw into the switch to check the pressure?

Thank you, Dean comtech@comcast. Net

Hi:
first, if the engine isn't making any noise when your gauge drops, chances are it's the sending unit. Yes you can check the pressure with a gauge. Most parts stores will rent the gauge for next to nothing, so don't waste your money purchasing one. Finally, I believe your sending unit is close to the oil filter.

Let me know if this helps.
