1992 FORD EXPLORER 4.0 - 115,000 MILES
TRYIN' TO BRING BACK OUR EXPLORER THAT HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SOME TIME. HAS NEW FUEL TANK, FUEL PUMP, FUEL LINES, & FUEL FILTER. HERE'S THE PROBLEM-THE FUEL PUMP IS WORKING & THE ENGINE TURNS OVER BUT WON'T RUN. AS LONG AS YOU FEED IT WITH ETHER. RUNS FINE! OTHERWISE CAN'T GET IT TO RUN? ALSO HAS NEW STARTER, CELINOID, & BATTERY. COULD IT BE CLOGGED FUEL INJECTION? ANY HELP EXTREMELY APPRECIATED, GETTING FRUSTRATED.

Check for injector pulse and the fuel pressure-No pulse might be the PCM quad driver-not energizing the injector.

Also look for spark-No spark the computer will not see a crank signal therefore no fuel injection-

No spark at all check the coil and ignition control module or the magnetic pick-up assembly in the distributor.

Could also be a fuel pump relay acting up and could also be the inertia switch the one that kills the fuel system in the event of an accident.

Could also be the pressure regulator not maintaining the pressure.

HTH-Good Luck
