What is the best method for changing the coolant in a 2006 Ford Explorer (V8, 4.6L)?

Basically you need to drain the coolant from the radiator and the engine block. There is a pet cock on the radiator and a drain plug on the side of the engine block. Purchase a flush kit at a parts store and it will list the directions the manufacturer wants you to follow.

NOTE: Personally, I remove the upper and lower radiator hose, thermostat, and flush the block with high pressure water and the same with the radiator, but see what the directions say and let me know if you have questions. I also replace the thermostat when doing this since the system is already open.
