I just emptied my radiator. Making sure no water was dropping out. And engine was getting hot. Then refilled with 75% antifreeze and 25% water.
I did not know I was suppose to leave the radiator cap on when I drained the water. Again, I made sure there was Nothing left dripping. I even revved the engine for a few minutes to help drain the block.
will I be OK. About 2 and 1/2 gallons of water came out. And again was replaced by 75% coolant and 25% water. Will I be ok. Or will I need to do it again. Its going to be 20 degrees tonight. Thank you very much

In the future, never run the engine without coolant. As far as the flush, you should be fine. Keep an eye on the temp gauge just in case you didn't add enough coolant. Also, in the future, your best mixture of coolant and water is a 50/50 ratio. It is its strongest at that for both freezing and boiling. Actally 50/50 takes the freezing to aprox -45 degrees F and the boiling point to around 270 degrees F.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.
