My wifes explorer drops to 28psi of oil pressure at idle, the guage on the dash kept dropping so I put on a mechanical guage and it was 28psi at idle and 51psi at 2100 rpm. The engine has only 30000 it was I remaned we put in 3 years ago I was going to replace oil pump but was wanting some other advice first. It is the 4.0 OHV engine. Thanks

Pressure spec is 40-60 psi at 2000 rpm normal operating temp, so it's OK. Change sending unit.

Are you using the recommended oil listed on the fill cap?
When you say "blows through" do you mean it's leaking?
