1997 Ford Explorer timing

My 1997 ford explorer is idleing to low when it get's warm it idles at 6 and when it is cold it idles at 1. So I was wondering if it had anything to do with the timing if so what is the timing supposed to be?

Hi there,

the ignition timing is not adjustable nor is the idle speed, (see text regarding idle speed) the idle is controlled with a IAC valve, so i would have a diagnostic scan done first.
