I have a friend that has a 1995 Ford Explorer with a 4.0L, 4X4, and she ran it out of fuel. Prior to this it run fine, no issues. Now it will not start, I put 10gal of fuel in the tank so I know it's there now. I have been trying for awhile with it now, I checked the inertia cutoff and it hasn't "triipped". I disconnected the fuel rod at the engine and no fuel is making it. I switched out her relay's and nothing. Short of replacing the pump, I don't know what else to do. I have heard that Ford has an issue with the inertia switches going bad after being run out of fuel, but I don't know that for sure. I need help please, Thank you all.

Could be that the fuel pump burned-up due to overheating not being submerged in fuel to cool it down. Check for power at the fuel pump connector.

Do you hear the pump come On when key at On position.
