I have a 1994 Ford Explorer with 65000 miles. Every couple of weeks I will be driving it. When I shut it off and then return to it and start it up again the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor as if I had air in them. I will try pumping them, but that does not help. Also, It normally happens when my tempature gauge shows the truck is starting to get hot. What is it and how can I fix it?

Are you leaking any brake fluid from any hoses or wheels? Is the fluid level full?

Let me know.

I checked the brake fluid twice and its full. I have'nt had a chance yet to double check the hoses. The wierd thing is it only happens approx every 2 weeks and usually when it's hot.

If there are no leaks, I would recommend checking all 4 wheels for leaks at the calipers and the wheel cylenders. If they are dry, then the problem must be coming from the master cylender.

Let me know what you find.
