1993 Ford Explorer noise on turns, bumps and brakng

My car makes a loud banging sound when I turn, hit a bump, or brake too quickly. I recently moved to a new state, and don't have a trusted mechanic. I know very little about cars and wanted to get an idea of what this could be, before going to see someone about it. I'm thinking axle or rocker arm?

I have seen a fair amount of ball joints on these trucks as well as bushings that go bad on the radius arm:
