Transmission problem
1993 Ford Explorer V6 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 134000 miles

I bought the truck in 99. I'e had the truck in California, with no need to use 4 wheel drive. It has never been engaged since i've owned it. The truck is now in New York, getting ready for winter. When I push the button, no light come on, and no sound og 4wd engaging. Could the non-use of this feature cause pemanent damage and does this have a fuse for power supply that I could check?
Thnx

I had trouble with my 4WD locking in when I pushed the button so I converted my auto lockinghubs to manual lockinghubs for about $175. Bought the kit at Autozone. Took about 45 minutes on the 1st side and about 20 minutes on the second once I knew what I was doing. Now I push the button on the dash and go out and manually lock them in. I know this is not your exact question but I hope it may help.
