Engine Performance problem
1997 Ford Expedition V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 167000 miles

My 97 expedition has high miles, 167,000, and I have not had any real problems with it, but I noticed a while back that I was developing a whistle when I accelerated, and just recently I have been noticing a little moisture in my oil, and also have a little miss at an idol run. Not really any noticeable white smoke from the exhaust, no oil in engine coolant but a little bit in oil. Oil also smells like gas really bad! Whats my problem. Intake gasket, head gasket, something else?

If you are getting coolant into the oil, chances are it is a head gasket. The only way to be sure is to do a compression test on the engine to see if there is low compression from one of the cylenders.

As far as the fuel smell in the oil, has the check engine light come on? When was the last tune up?
