Overheating?

I have a 1999 ford escort, 143,000 miles on it. Recently I had problems with it overheating. I put it in the shop and had the freeze plug replaced, it helped for 2 days, then it started overheating again. I had the thermostat replaced because I was told it had a lot of rust in it and it wasn't opening like it should, which was causing it to overheat. It worked good for 2 days, then today it started overheating again. I havent' let it get all the way over on hot. I don't know what else it could be. The hoses have been checked, they even did a pressure check to make sure I didn't have any leaks. My oil is fine, no milky color. Could it be a bad thermostat, should I check to make sure there is aniifreeze in it. I am lost. Please help.

Maybe this will help-you probably need the cooling system bleed-might have air lock. See below

Always bleed air from cooling system after replacing coolant. Set heater for maximum heat. Remove radiator cap. Loosen drain plug and remove drain bolt (if equipped) from engine block. Drain coolant reservoir. Fill coolant reservoir to MAX mark with 50/50 water-coolant mixture. Loosen bleed bolt and fill radiator up to base of filler neck. Close bleed bolt when coolant flows out without bubbles. Tighten bleed bolt. With radiator cap removed, start and operate engine to normal operating temperature. Add coolant if necessary and check for leaks.
