The trasmission on my escort seems to slip or hesitate, to catch I guess is the 5th gear, do you think that if I change the transmission oil and the trans filter the car will perform better? Also is there a cable adjustment for the trasmission?
thanks for your help

Hi Mitch,

If it is only doing it in fourth gear then I doubt the filter and fluid change would help.

Is your engine light on? if so take it by your local auto parts store and have them pull codes for you and post them here.

If not you can try the follow proceedure to adjust the transmission range sensor/switch...

Thank you so much for the information you provided. The engine light it's not on and the car runs pretty go except for this issue, I will check on the cable adjustment and get back to you. I am hopping that is all it needs. I will keep you posted.
Thanks again
Mitch
