Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

Hello,
I got in my car this morning to go to wrok and there was no pressure on my clutch petal.
The last time I drove it it worked fine.(Two days ago)
I don't understand how this happened when it was just sitting there.
Is it a chain, spring, belt, or something like that?

Is it going to be an expensive fix?

Help!

Thanks
Michelle

First, check if you have brake fluid on the brake/clutch master cylinder reservoir? Now, pump the clutch pedal on and off several times, does it have pressure even a little? If yes, then your clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder needs to be replaced. Not so expensive.
Expensive is when the clutch release fork got out of place inside the transmission. With this problem, transmission needs to be removed. But this problem seldom happens.
