1994 Ford Escort Cooling fan

I was driving down the freeway at about 75 when my car started slowing down. I was still pressing the gas but car was still slowing down. Engine then shut off but would restart fine. Smoke started coming from under the hood. The water in the coolant reserve was boiling I let it cool down then limped the car home. I have since replaced the thermostat and cooling sensors. Car runs better but I noticed that the cooling fan never turns on. Im not even sure if these problems are related but any advice

Hello,

They most likely are related, You will need to check the relays.

They are located on the Left Front Inner Fender Panel, Left of Air Cleaner Assembly.

If it is a 1.9L engine there should be 2 a Low and a High Speed.

There is also a Power Relay located on the fuse block in engine compartment.
