Hi,

I have a 2002 Ford Escape with approx 65K miles & always keep up service (i.E oil change etc) V6 engine (I think)

I brought it in last week for bearings, oil change & replace front timing cover seal for the crankshaft had a small leak. The next day I heard a ticking noise from the engine. Was ticking while in neutral & park. I was driving this past Sat on highway & car dies as I was going 70 MPH & would not start back up & all lights/elec worked & only light on was oil light.

Had towed to Ford dealer & told me today that they need to replace the cam shaft sensor but stated what they did last week had nothing to do with it & want to charge me $445 to repair.

Would the work they did last week have anything to do with what is wrong now as they did not even ask for the $ that was charged to them to tow me to their dealership?

PLEASE HELP. I do not want to get mislead & pay for something that they messed up.

THANK YOU :-)

This is one of those cases that you need to trust the folks that work on it. The only one that really knows may be the tech that worked on it. You can try to talk to the service manager or get a 2nd opinion.
