4.6L SOHC 110K ran like a monster, then lost some umph, and got a CE light a couple of times in six months, battery died & lost the codes. A couple more CEs in the next six months, slowly developed major hesitation 1 out of 3 times in first acceleration after being cold, would take 30 seconds to get to 40mph. Got even worse (frequency), checked codes, O2 banks lean and no sensor along with adaptive fuel limit reached. Changed sensors. Fine for three weeks, except kept it's hesitation to downshift (also infrequent, sometimes won't do it until I let off the pedal). Three more sets of CE lights & resets without any stored codes. Even got the "Cylinder 8" displayed (?) W/ no explanation (re firing, injector, etc.). Runs very well most the time, but can become very hesitant and in the middle of the throttle frequently it won't accelerate until I let off of it (going 40 and want to speed up w/o downshift). New fuel filter. Wires firing, but they're intermittent at idle and on occasion they miss one out of every 6-10 fires (is this emission control?) TPS? Fuel Pump? Fuel Regulator? Injectors? MAF? MAP/BAP? Coils? Wires? Plugs? Using 89 octane. Help !

FYI - I solved the problem !
For those of you interested, the MAF & the AIT
were dirty & needed a little aerosol electonics
cleaner. It's like having a whole new motor !
