1984 Ford Crown Victoria won't start

I thought the fuel pump in the tank was bad but it checks out ok wasn't getting any voltage couldn't find any blown fuses so we ran another hot wire to the pump now the pump runs but it still won't start put some gas in the carb or throttle body and it starts but only runs till the gas is used up about 2 seconds

Check batt wire to be sure your injector wire is on the neg post
