97 Ford Contour starting problems

97 Ford contour sport, 6 cylinder 84,000 miles

Hi, about 3 weeks ago, as I was driving my car, I slowed down to stop at an intersection when my car died on me. By died I mean the engine cut, but all my lights were on and every light on the dash board was lit up too. I turned it off and tried to restart it but the engine wouldn't turn over. It actually did turn on fully once but when I put it into drive it cut out again.
About 30 min later my car worked fine. I got the battery checked and it wasn't that or the alternator.

Then it just happened again, while I was slowing down at a stop sign. I haven't checked to see if it works fully again but the same things happened like the last time. I just want an idea of what this could be. Thanks =)
