1997 Ford Contour Only starts when cold

I'm having a mysterious problem with my car. It starts normally in the morning but then after driving around for a short period of time and then stopping for a short period of time, the car will NOT start back up unless I wait a long period of time or even overnight.

When u say it will not start back
do u mean will not crank
or crank but no start
no crank check the starter
crank no start check for spark check for fuel pressure

Thanks for your quick response. The engine cranks but doesn't start. I will check the fuel pressure and for spark. So far i've tested the coil pack and the only readings out of spec was when measuring the coil secondary resistance. Specs say that the resistance should be between 12.8-13.1 kohms and my readings said 15.3 and 15.9. Do you think this is a problem?

Lets continue with the test for know and check if it the spark or fuel

If its spark that is missing I would suspect crank sensor before the coil
also if u can get it scanned for codes
and pending codes
