I have code B1B71 (Circuit short to battery or Open) for my Evap temperature sensor. Having read around, one of the fixes I understand could be replacing the failed sensor. If I need to replace the Evap Temp Sensor, how do I access the sensor?

This could be a sensor issue however, there are other possible causes namely wiring. We need to run through this testing because if you have to replace the sensor then you need to replace the entire HVAC housing as it is not serviced separately.

I attached the testing that we need to run through along with the replacement procedure if it proves to be the sensor.

Let us know what questions you have. Thanks

You do not need to replace the entire HVAC box just because a $20.00 sensor failed.

Did you read the #2 note from Ford? They say it is only serviced that way.
