We checked the fuel pump and it's working fine. What else could it be?

Hello,

How did you verify the pump is working properly, Can you here it turn on when you first turn the key to the on position? What could be happening is the pump is priming the system but then isn't turning back on after it starts and the engine is burning off that pressure built. Help me get a better idea about your car. What happened the first time this occurred? Is the car a daily driver or does it sit? When it first failed was it in the morning and everything was fine the night before when you parked or you went into a store and came out and no start?
Let me know,
Tom

Do you have a security light flashing? if so here is a guide so you can reset it:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-reset-a-security-system

We should run the codes as well because I have seen the MAF sensor cause this issue.

Please run down these guides and report back.

There is no security light flashing.
The codes we got were; P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355 and P0356 all 6 coils. When we scanned it again the next day only ignition coil one came up again. How do I check the ignition coil?

For Tom,

Yes, we hear the fuel pump priming when we turn the key and after the truck shuts off, you can still hear the fuel pump running.
We were in Palm Springs and we went to leave one evening and it wouldn't start. After 2 days of my husband checking everything and using the scanner, he did the scanner one more time and she started right up. Drove her home from palm springs to San Diego no problems. The next day after we got home, she would not start again and hasn't started yet.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Just here to add my 2 cents. I would strongly suggest to actually test the output-pressure the fuel pump is actually providing. It sounds like you might have a weak or failing fuel pump.Just because you can hear it running doesn't mean it's performing at 100% especially at almost 300,000 miles. If you don't have access to a fuel pressure tester most auto parts stores have a tool loaner program and can rent you one. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved for testing fuel pressure:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

After performing the test get back to us with the results and we'll go from there. I have attached a picture below of the pressure specifications for your truck.Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Hello,

Did you manage to get the fuel pressure checked out? It's interesting that your getting changes in the codes and that you were able to drive it once then it shut off again. To bench check your coils you will need a VOM or Volt ohm Meter. Do you have access to one? With a few resistance test you can verify if one is bad or if it's the ECU messing around. It's very unusual for code to come up with them all failing then just one after a day.
Let me know,
Tom
