Purchased the vehicle and drove it forty five miles to my home. It drove the whole way at freeway speeds of fifty five to seventy mph with no issues, sat and idled at stop lights with no issues, then idled for another twelve to fifteen minutes when I arrived just to check for leaks, etc, no problems. The next day it did not want to start. I tried several times. I cycled the key numerous times before attempting to start it in the event fuel delivery might have something to do with it. No change. After a dozen attempts suddenly it starts and seems to run fine, at least for ten minutes or so. I was told it was most likely the crankshaft position sensor. Put in a new one. Still have the same problem. Took out the idle control valve and cleaned it up real well. Car seems to want to start a little easier but still not on the first attempt, takes a few tries. Also, noted that once I do get it started it will run for twenty to thirty minutes or even longer at 2500 rpm or at an idle. I even sat and ran it at 2500 rpm for ten minutes, no problem. Now let it sit and idle for ten minutes, no problem. Now just try and accelerate with the pedal quickly and within that second it will shut off as if you just turned off the key. That issue is consistent. I followed the same procedure each time. Whenever attempting to accelerate it will shut off immediately. What sensor might be causing this? The TPS? Other thoughts?

Thank you.

Hello,

This sounds like you have a weak fuel pump which will cause the problem you described. Lets start with a fuel pressure test which you can do by following this guide.

Please run down this guide and report back
