Engine stalls

It starts great and idles great, but in neutral, you barley give it gas, the engine shuts off. It will go fine, about five mph if you do not accelerate at all. A couple weeks ago you could accelerate and get up to speed-but between about twenty and thirty mph, engine would 'jerk' and skip. Once over thirty, it ran fine. I did change the gas filter and cleaned the mass air sensor-but it did not help. Now, engine will not go pass 2400 rpm without cutting off you can go only at idle speed. I am trying to sell this for grandson who just joined USMC. Thanks, Buddy

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge it can be low fuel pressure or a sensor problem. See link.
