Engine shut of after making a pop sound

Engine cranks and changed out fuel filter. Made a pop sound when driving and engine shut down. Checked all the fuses and wires on engine and still just cranks but will not start.

It sounds like you may have a broken valve spring, can you confirm by doing a compression test.
