Hi,

If you have spark at the plugs, then it must be a fuel-related issue or a timing issue. Try this. See if it starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know its fuel related.

Also, if you can record it cranking and upload it for me to hear, I should be able to tell if it is a timing-related issue.

Let me know.

Joe

Note: Please confirm the engine size. In 2007, only a 2.0L and a 2.4L were offered.

Hi,

Anything is possible. However, before replacing parts, we need to determine the cause. By chance, did you see if it starts with starting fluid?

Also, are you located in the US? I ask because the engine you indicated wasn't offered. If you are in a different country, that could be the reason.

Let me know.

Joe

Have a good day. I just bought this car at the auction, and I just picked it up now and it has no compression. Has anyone changed the timing belt in 2019 and since then the car has idled, what do you think, could the valves have gone wrong?

Hi,

That explains why I can't find the correct engine. You have spark and fuel, so I need to confirm what you said above. Does it have compression? Can you record it cranking and upload it for me to hear?

Let me know.

Joe

If you have no compression, the timing belt may have failed. If the engine is a 1.4L, I can't even find information on it to determine if it is an interference engine.

I will watch for your video. I'm interested in hearing what it's doing.

Take care,

Joe
