I've had my van listed above sitting in 1 spot for the last 3 months because I was told that the thermostat needed changed. The guy said my thermostat was the reason it was getting so hot. After spending over $200.00 I had the same outcome. Needed to list the engine to get it out. I finally had someone get a hold of me and said "since you've been doing so much for our mutual friend and helping him out, I'm going to help you out. I'll be there tomorrow." I said sure! It couldn't hurt! So today around 4:00 is when the lady mechanic showed up. In 2 hours she had the old thermostat in and the new one on and all the parts that were sitting in my backseat was put back in place! I started it and let it idle for about 2 minutes. In that short time the temperature gauge was almost at halfway. She was disappointed that the situation wasn't fixed but I still have much respect for her doing what 3 men couldn't do. The van is still getting hot, the water flow isn't working and the reservoir is not working.

Good morning,

Halfway is not overheating. It is normal.

Did it get much higher than this?

Can you tell me how high it went prior to this repair?

Roy
