Okay, the key fob quit locking/unlocking doors, interior lights quit coming on when door was opened, and the trip mileage and average miles per gallon reset to 0 every time you turn the ignition off and restart vehicular. Interior lights will come on when ignition is on accessory and door is opened. Also the temperature, fuel, tachometer, and speedometer stay in the position they were in when you shut vehicle off. Battery voltage off is 12.54, running is 13.9. Tested all fuses and none were bad, but after that there was no headlights, A/C, windows won’t go down, turn signals work, hazard signals work and truck starts and runs just fine. Note: it does not have a keyed ignition switch it’s push button, and the navigation screen works but all of the stored information got deleted, previous destinations, calls, preset radio and Sirius stations, and the Bluetooth to the phone for music cuts in and out. Last time it was in the shop for service was in April before we went on a trip all fluids filters were changed and we had no problem whatsoever on our trip, just started this last week.

Based on all this, I suspect the main body computer has failed. The way to figure this out is to check voltage coming out of the BCM on each of these components and then voltage going in from each switch. Basically if the switch is operating and sending voltage to the BCM but nothing coming out to operate the lock then the BCM is the issue.

Below is the wiring diagram for the locks to the BCM which is what we should start with checking. Here is a guide that will help with this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

If this proves out then I included the process from the manual on how to replace this module.

Please run through this material and let us know if you have questions on this.

Would the BCM throw a code? Because I’ve got no stored codes in the system on the code reader. It also seems that the only system’s not affected by this problem are the starting, charging, engine operation, and brake lights and turn signals. To me it’s almost like something with the alarm, and aren’t most of these things run through the radio/navigation display? Thanks for the answers and help.

The alarms are normally run through the radios when they are audio security systems. The alarms that are there to prevent the vehicle from being stolen will prevent the engine from starting. So if that is working then the alarm is not the issue.

Also, yes, this could fail with no codes. The way to confirm this is to check the voltage as described above. Unfortunately there really is not another way to prove this if there are no codes.

Okay, broke down and took truck to dealership to fix, they got the headlights working, the A/C, gauges don’t zero out, trip still resets to 0 when turned off and back on along with the fuel mileage average, interior dome lights only come on with the truck in ignition on mode, but yet the windows will roll up and down with the ignition off at any time day or night. The dealership left part of the alarm system out of the truck they said it was just the motion part of it, and we were told that the rear view mirror was the problem because of the necklaces hanging from it it was causing a fuse to blow so they left it unplugged and wanted $700.00 plus for a replacement mirror. The key fob still doesn’t work to unlock or lock the doors and the panic button does nothing. I got charged $786.00 for them to basically tell me the rear view mirror was bad, but when I got home and plugged it in no fuse has blown as of yet, not to mention that they had the truck for 5 days and left parts out of the alarm system upon return to me. What sensors are in the rear view mirror besides the auto dimmer and the compass? I believe that they didn’t even bother checking the Body control module at all or even disconnected the battery! I’m going to go talk to them to find out just what they did and find the parts and replace them myself this time. Sorry about the rant I’m just really upset that the dealership didn’t get the problem fixed for that kind of money and time. Thank you for your help you guys are the best when it comes to help online. Thanks again.

Totally understand the frustration. I am attaching the wiring diagram of the mirror. Doesn't look like there are sensors as part of it.

Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully they can supply the needed info. Let us know what you find on this. Thanks
