I had the o2 air fuel ratio sensor fixed. The mechanic said it was the one that failed. My check engine light went off, but I still smells egg like smell when I drive it.

Good morning,

What was the code that was set?

The smell comes from too much fuel sent to the catalytic converter and that is why it stinks. It is running rich for some reason.

Did they use a sensor from the dealer?

I can look and see; I took it to O'Reilly because the check engine light was on it gave me nine codes. They fixed the oil valve timing part and said the air fuel ratio o2 sensor was bad. So, they fixed that. I will look and see exactly what codes come up. It cost me $318.00 for o2 sensor and they said they don't buy the cheap ones because they will tear up easily.

I just know it gives off that smell, the gas goes out like crazy. I have to put 89 or 93 in the car, but it sucks it out so quick. It's really sluggish, and does not accelerate good at all.

Okay, thanks.

Can I have the codes so I can look and see if there is a root cause for running this rich.
