Needed to replace the tailgate hinge on the driver side connected to the truck, not the tailgate. Torq bolts had never been removed before and were extremely hard to get out. Used a grinder, blow torch, and vice grips. I had to remove the taillight cover to reach the bolts from the inside with WD40. Spun both bulbs to remove from the reflectors and set it aside. Got the hinge off and replaces and put everything back together the way I found it. I did use the torch to heat up the bolts. Once everything was back together, the running light decided to stop working on the drivers side that I removed. AGAIN, I used the torch close to these wires. I inspected the wires and see no visible damage as I was being careful not to touch them. Running lights on the passenger side work perfectly. Both brake lights and turn signals work fine as well. Just the running light on the driver side won't come on. Any ideas?

Please remove the taillight assembly and check for power at the brown wire, also check the bulb socket to see if the connection has melted. here is a wiring diagrams of the lights so you can see how they work and a guide to help you check for power.
