I would remove the fuse for the A/C system in the fuse box. Leave it out for 10 minutes and then reinstall.

Then turn the key on and let the actuators calibrate themselves.

Hi.

My wife insisted that we take it to the dealership. They said that the compressor gas levels were low and recharged it. When the problem persisted, they suggested replacing the compressor ($1,200.00) and tried to say something about how my compressor gas being low indicated a leak in the system and that it needs to be replaced. I'm calling BS as the guy said that low gas was the reason for the temperature difference.
I think I'm going to have to open up the vents and see the blend doors if your suggestion for a hard reset doesn't work.

Thanks for your time,
Sean

Try what I suggested first.

If that does not work, then the dealer may be right on the Freon level. That is a common issue.

As far as the reason why a leak check needs to be done as there are so many places it could leak from. The compressor is an expensive guess.

Bingo. I stand corrected; the low gas was the issue. The A/C has been running great without swapping the compressor. 3 weeks and A/C is still cold; time will tell if there is a persistent small leak. Now to replace the purge valve.

Thanks for your help and keep up the good work,
Sean
