Does not rev up when pressing gas pedal

It sounds like the most likely cause is throttle cable has broken, if it has you should be able to pull it out of it's casing from the throttle body at least enough to cause some slack. Another less likely cause could be a broken gas pedal which could cause slack in the cable also but either way to start the repair you would want to start by removing the gas pedal so when you do that you will have your answer.
