It's an 8.0 L V-10 Ram 2500 4X4. Way high on miles.

Last spring it started acting up by not wanting to restart if the engine was warm. Let it sit for quite awhile. She'd start right up and run like a champ. But didn't like to idle well with engine warm.

During the summer. Problem got worse in that it seemed to need to sit longer before it'd start. Then it'd still run great again. Then, late summer.I had let it sit for a week or two. It started fine. And after running at idle for a minute or so. It died. No sputter. Just died like the switch had been shut off.

It refuses to start at all now. Not even a sputter.

Prior to this problem that started in the spring, I used to notice it was seeming to misfire occasionally. Not being very smart.I just lightly tapped the place where the ten plug wires originate (coils?). And the rough-running misfire would clear right up.

With the high, high miles. Do I need to just junk this old rascal? I hate to. I put a new thermostat in it and a new water pump on it just a few months before this (ingnition?) Problem started happening.

I sure could use the 4X4 now. Big snow here!

Time to do below to track it for fuel and spark problems without waiting

No Start condition:

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard
