When I first start my truck it bogs down - hesitates- and pops through the intake. What could the problem be? It only does it at low rpm's and cold.

Hello,

It sounds like the engine is backfiring thru the intake. Typically you will get backfire when there is unburnt fuel.
This is the most common backfire symptom. This happens when there is explosion of unburnt fuel being ignited inside the intake manifold. This can blow out gaskets and bend the throttle actuator plate. It can even blow out the intake manifold.

Check for any trouble codes. Which can make the diagnostics process easier.
Check the fuel pressure. If you are getting excessive fuel, then you will have unburnt fuel which can crate the backfire.
This vehicle should have 49 PSI (+/- 5 PSI) of fuel pressure.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
