2000 Dodge Ram back door will not open

The back door to my Dodge Ram 1500 will not open, it seems as though the latch mechanism is stuck. The door is not the full size door.

The only things that can cause this is a broken door handle, broken linkage, the linkage has come disconnected, or the latch is bad. You need to remove the door panel to see if anything has come apart.
