1996 Dodge Ram engine turns off on idle

1996 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100k miles

1500 5.9L gas. I had a problem with the truck turning off on idle. I changed the idle control switch and it got fixed for like a week. Then the problem came back. Everytime I disconnect the battery with ignition on for five minutes, the problem goes away for another week, the part I changed is original, no aftermarket. What can I do to fix this problem?

Has it ever set a code in the PCM? If so have it scanned, that mght be the root of the problem. Coul dhave an update for the PCM as well, migh twant to contact Dodge and ask them. I dont see and recalls or TSB's related to idle quality
