I drove into some high water on a backroad. I wasn't going too fast when I hit it. Maybe 20 mph. The engine died right away. The water was high enough that it started flooding into the floor of the car. And I'm sure a lot under the hood was flooded. The car sat there for maybe 30 minutes before I got some help and got it pushed out. Then we towed it home.

When I try and hit the ignition, it sounds like it wants to start. It's making a very loud sound. The engine seems to shake a lot when I try and start it. We checked the air-intake and the filter was wet and there were some leaves and other debris in there.

What can I do?

Clean out every electrical component and relay everything, dry everything off and try a new starter, see if it works, you probaly have water shorting out a relay somewhere.

Check the fuses also.
