Transmission problem
2000 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 115xxx miles

After pulling into my drive way I went to put the vehicle in park, the shift knob moved fine but the car remained in drive. I don't know if this is an issue with the transmission itself or the linkage between the tranny and the shift knob. As I said though I have full movement with the shift knob just no change in gears. Any ideas?

It sounds like the linkage has come disconnected. Have you been able to check it?

Yea I fixed the issue, it was the shifter cable. I'm gettin tired of having to put up with all the issues my Intrepid has thrown at me, every two weeks its something new.

I'm glad you got it fixed. I go through the same things. It's either fix the old ones or have a new car payment. It's a pain, but less money.

Take care, and if you have questions in the future, let us know.

Joe
