1997 Dodge Intrepid testing water pump

I need to know as soon as possible if there is a way to see if my water pump is bad. I am certain that it is leaking but how can you tell if you have to replace the pump or just the seal? I have looked everywhere for the information but I need to know today as I have to get if fixed ASAP!

Go look in your Hanes/Chiltons manual and it will show you a pic of where the leak hole is on your car. On my 03' Intrepid (2.7) it's on the drivers side, next to the thermostat, up under the car. I had to jack up my car (w/ jackstands), then start up the car and let it run for 20 mins until it leaked. Goodluck!
