1994 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

when my transmission gets hot, my car won't shift out. When the car cools off, I can drive it again

2 things. The fluid expands when hot and the seals work better so check the level. Also if the filter is bad or the transmission is overheating the same thing except the heat makes it different so it may also need to be serviced if the fluid is good. Tranny time. 15 years. The transmission cooler must be working properly, you may have a leak also.
