Brakes problem
1998 Dodge Durango V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have pulled the brake release for the emergency brake, but the truck feels like the brake is sticking and while driving on interstate someone honked at me and said my wheel was smoking. It looked like the smoke was coming from my hub and it is very hot to the touch. My husband took the wheel off and looked at the pads and they were fine. If you compare driver side rear to passenger side rear, the driver's side hub is black and burnt while the passenger side is gray. What could be causing this?

Is there grease in the driver side hub? Is the bearing still good?

What about the brakes? Are they dragging with the back end jacked up? Drivfe it a few miles, come home and feel, is the brakes hot? Check to see if they dragging now.

Let me know.
