All ik is that the resistor is in the air system in the cab on the passenger side and I think the blow in motor is in the same area

Okay, that must be what it is. If it is melting again, chances are the blower motor itself is drawing too many amps and causing the wiring to heat up. Other than that, a poor connection can cause excessive heat. Make sure everything is clean and tight. However, my guess is the blower motor.

Hello there, been awhile, having an issue with my heating and AC system. So my blower motor won't spin. Took it out hooked it up to the battery and it spins just fine, changed out my heater resistor and still nothing, checked all my fuses they are good and checked my wiring and I am getting all the proper current. Not sure what to do from here, is there way to check my climate control panel? Not sure if that could be the issue. Let me know what I can do thanks

If you have already checked fuses, check to see if there is power to the switch. If there is, the power must be lost between that point and the blower motor.

Let me know what you find.

If I set the blower at any of the three lower levels it will not come on. I have to set it to high so it will turn on.

Someone told me it may be the blower motor resistor?

Yes, although the high speed doesn't use a resistor, it's wired through that assembly. The resistor assembly is on the ground side of the blower motor, I can't rule out the heater control.

Hello, the procedure was changed from 2000 to 2001. I have a procedural picture for 2000 but not 2001.

According to the partsbook, the resistor looks like the above picture.

First things first. Check to see the condition of the heater motor. If its too high then the resistor will keep blowing. Try putting a small amp fuse in. What happens to it? Are you going with cheap aftermarket parts or a good stepped resistor oem quality

I just bought a replacement resistor for my blower motor. I am assuming based on research that its location is somewhere behind - or under - the glove box. Can I replace this without pulling the entire dashboard, and if so, how?

My blower motor stopped working. I tested the fuse, blower and climate control switch. All appears to be working fine. I think I have a problem with the blower motor resistor; however I can't locate it.

It is suppose to be on the passenger side of the truck under the dash according to the manual.
I pretty much took the dash apart but still can't find it. Can you help me locate it?
