At how many rpms should a automatic tranny shift. How many is too many. And can it cause problems? My 02 dakota isnt shifting till just above 2000 rpms and it sounds "to me" like it is rev-ing too high/taking too long. Its fine when it does shift. It just making me nervous.

does your truck shift different then it normally shifted? 2000 rpms is not really that bad. However if sometimes it is going higher maybe a prob. Hope this helps please take a moment to vote. Ty billymac
