2001 Dodge Dakota heater only works on full blast

My heater only works when I turn it all the way up.
pulled dash board & checked main panel(looks ok). So I would like to know if the motor also works in sequence, per motor speeds with main panel knob.

Replace the blower motor resistor

Exactly what Rasmataz said. Same thing happened to my 01' dakota. It's located under the passenger side dash. 2 screws and ten minutes later its good as new.
