For the past few weeks the truck would not start on the first turn of the key but would fire right up the second time. Today I just got a click sound and everything went dark. No horn, door bells, lights, nothing. A few times over the last month I did have the radio go dark and reset on me. Sounds like a short but where do I start? Any idea where I should start my investigation? I looked at all fuses and found none of them burned out.
Battery is new and charged. Thanks for the help

Hello,

It sounds like you might an issue with the ignition switch.
It is the electrical part that the lock cylinder attaches to.
There are several pin on that switch, that controls various electronics.
Overtime those pin can get worn off and start to create intermittent starting and other inoperative electrical parts.
Sometimes a faulty ignition switch will make you turn the key several times before it will engage.
Removing the ignition switch does require removal of the steering wheel.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
