Hey guy's

in the near future im thinking about an up grade for my old tired 3.9 V6 in my truck 98 Dodge Dakota. Im looking for a camshaft that is bigger than stock, a little more Hp/Tork now im really not looking for 500 horses under the hood after a complete rebuild, any sugustions? What manufacturer I.E. The Dodge purple performance cam or Crowler any ideas?

Thanks Brian

Rather than going with a different size cam, I suggest using a direct fit cam (OEM) and purchasing a different chip for the computer. You would be surprised what you can get out of a 3.9L. I still have an old 93 with 220K. IT still runs great. I had a 2000 with the 3.9L and I had it running 14.8 quarter miles. Thats not super fast, but for an extend cab 4x4 with a v6, it's not bad. Also, it improved my gas mileage from around 12 to 15.

Just a thought.
