1993 Dodge Dakota No oil pressure

Engine trurns over no oil pressue is registering. Replaced oil pressure switch. Oil pressuree was going up and down prior to failure to start. Pulled codes were 12 and 55 cant find out what they mean.

Lets deal with the oil pressure, hook up a mechanical gauge and check the actual oil pressure-could be the oil pump is failing-Any weird knocking noises before it went haywire?

No knocking before engine quit running. A whezzing noise is made due turning over of engine. As the engine is trying to start asmall increase in oil pressure is notred. Will get a compession check as well as iol pressure check. Not sure what to look for.
